The Purpose of Business
What is the purpose of business?
Most will answer “to making money” or “for profit”. I think this is a natural response, but in my opinion not quite right. The main purpose of business of the successful people I know, not about making money but something else.
When Steve Jobs (Apple), Bill Gates (Microsoft), Jerry Yang (Yahoo), and so on, was asked why make the company they created, the answer is “to change the world”. Obviously meant to make the world better. Extraordinary is not it?
Money for them is not the main goal to make business. The money will come as a logical consequence. Not the main goal. Passion (and probably also the beginning was the hobby) is the main impetus. They do so because of their love on their fields.
